The hand lance is used to do detail work on surfaces that are not accessible with the robot or mower. Similar to the hydrodemolition robot or the high pressure mower unit, the operator can control the rate and depth of removal by how fast he moves the hand lance. The heads of the hand lance can have 1 to 5 nozzles to either concentrate the force of the high pressure water for deeper removal or spread it out for surface removal or cleaning. The head also rotates, driven by compressed air. Depending on whether the goal is to remove membrane, carpet glue, or concrete the operator will modify these parameters to achieve the best rate of removal for the project.
